Family Time

Christmas is a magical time of year. It brings surprises to all the kids…big and small. Most importantly, we celebrate Jesus’ birthday.

It’s also a special time to spend with family and friends. Each moment is precious. I remember as a child visiting our grandparents after Christmas and then going to different friend’s houses to share the season with them. We had fun playing together with our new toys and seeing what they received as gifts. We enjoyed these times. Our parents showed us how important it is to do this.

This year, my brother and sister-in-law (Murray and Natalie) have their entire family home in New Brunswick to celebrate Christmas. It’s my great niece’s (Anaiah) first Christmas, so I know they are savouring every little “new” moment with her. Amazing.

For me, I’ve received another gift. My sister is here visiting with Jeff and I. It’s her first time coming to London this time of year and we’re looking forward to celebrating the rest of Christmas week and New Year’s with her. We know they’ll be lots of laughing and we’ll probably shed a few tears as we reminisce about Christmases from the past.

Next to our Saviour’s gift, family is the most important present we can ever receive. I praise God for my family.

Let’s delight in each moment together as family and friends. They are precious.

Happy New Year everyone!
