Award-winning Publishers Weekly Best-selling Author

Today God’s word doesn’t seem to hold weight anymore, does it? It’s not hip or in vogue. I would even be so bold to say that some churches have put it in their drawers and started preaching without it.
Yes, you heard me right.
Without it.
lifehacksThey preach that living good lives is the way to go. Be tolerant and look the other way on certain things. Love one another. Yada, yada.
Do. Not. Take. Me. Wrong. I agree we need to love our neighbors and live good lives. It’s crucial. However, we can’t forget God’s word. It holds many truths. Truths we need to stand firm to and live by. Be unashamed.
That’s why He gave it to us. If we don’t, we will crumble just like the man who built his house on sand.
Some may say the Bible is outdated. It’s the opposite.
It’s timeless.
But it’s hard to read and study, you say? Well, every year publishing companies are coming out with new versions that give you study helps. Zondervan has the new NIV Lifehacks Bible I’m giving away today on this blog (see below for more information). It has practical tools for successful spiritual habits. Here’s a website to give you more information. Click here.

The Booth Brothers sing an amazing song written by Jim Brady called Stand. Whenever I hear them sing it, I can’t sit. I have to stand.
As I wrote this blog and listened to Jim’s song, it brought tears. God’s word is ageless. It always has something new and exciting to teach us.
Let’s open our Bibles today and dig deep for fresh insight into what God wants us to see. Click to tweet.
Will you join me and do the following?
Raise your Bible high and take a STAND!
Stand (by Jim Brady sung by the Booth Brothers)
Listen closely to these powerful words and take a stand. I guarantee by the end of the song, you’ll be pumping your fist in the air!

Thanks Darlene for taking a STAND by sharing this truth….SO thankful my pastor reads and preaches from the Word, and even when I share in worship, I read from the Word for the song we are about to sing…we are nothing without God’s Word. These past few days I have struggled with something very hurtful and hard in my life and it was God’s word that has helped me more forward, claiming His words to us….I am so Thankful of how God speaks through his Word to us personally and as His People….BACK TO HIS WORD is the BEST PLACE to BE!!!!!!!!!!!! Love this song!

As much as I love books, the Bible is the only one against which all so-called truth and wisdom must be measured. Thanks for challenging us to take a stand, my friend.

“The Bible is not a book about information but a surgical tool for transformation.” Howard Hendricks. When we take a stand it is about action, about decisions and about seeking a relationship and not a religion. God loves us and gave us His letter to guide and protect us. It also reminds us that taking a stand for the Word is about living out the pages of His Word through the pages us our lives. I certainly have failed at this but what I find most amazing is He keeps standing for us even when we can not stand on our own.
