Justice Delayed

By Patricia Bradley

TV crime reporter Andi Hollister’s sister was killed eighteen years ago and the killer is now on death row. Andi’s world is suddenly turned upside down when a letter arrives announcing they have the wrong man behind bars. Plus, she’s attacked in her own home under mysterious circumstances. What was the perpetrator looking for?

Detective Will Kincade of the Memphis Cold Case Unit is tasked with solving this crime before the convicted killer—his cousin—is wrongly put to death. The evidence is lacking, but can he stay the execution before it’s too late? Can he set aside his growing feelings for his best friend’s kid sister and concentrate on the case?

Together, Andi and Will race to uncover the clues of this cold case while they try and keep ahead of a cold-hearted killer. Can they beat the clock and be true to their growing feelings for each other or will time run out?

Justice Delayed is book 1 of author Patricia Bradley’s new Memphis Cold Case series and I have to say . . . I’m hooked! This plot kept me turning the pages as Andi and Will worked with other characters to uncover the secret behind Andi’s sister’s murder eighteen years ago. It’s action packed and intriguing right down to the smuggled diamonds.

I loved all of the introductions to the characters of this series as I can see how the author will use them in books to come. Andi was strong-willed and stubborn. Fiesty. Her addiction to her pain medication revealed her vulnerability and gave us a look into how this could happen in real life. Will’s soft side when it came to Andi touched my heart. He was like a big teddy bear always wanting to protect her.

The faith aspect of the story was effectively woven throughout the pages. It didn’t feel like I was being thumped over the head or preached at. I liked that.

The imagery in the book was well written. I could picture each scene almost like I was there with the characters. Nice job!

This book was well done and sets up the series nicely. Can’t wait to read more.

I give Justice Delayed four diamonds. It’s a jewel of a find!
