Award-winning Publishers Weekly Best-selling Author

With You Always By Jody Hedlund

Immigrant Elise Neumann is out of work and unable to provide for her sisters during tough times in New York City. When she finally finds work in Illinois, she boards the Orphan Train and leaves her siblings behind. Her plan? To make enough money to send some back to provide for them with the hopes of bringing her family to live with her. However, not all works out as she hopes and she soon finds herself struggling to pay off her debt on her pitiful salary. Can she trust the handsome businessman when he lends his help?

Thornton Quincy was born into privilege and with that comes responsibility. Issued a challenge by his dying father, he and his twin brother must build a town and find love before Christmas in order to win. The winner gains control of the company. Which one will move ahead? Thornton races to build his town of Quincy but when the beautiful Elise steps into his path, his head spins and everything is turned upside down. Will his father approve of an immigrant as a suitable wife?

Elise and Thornton find obstacle and intrigue in their little town. How will they get ahead in their plights when everything seems to be going wrong? And can they stop their growing feelings?

With You Always is a delight! It had me from the very beginning and I couldn’t stop reading. The plot mixed in with the historical elements is superb. I loved the storyline the author wove into the background of the Orphan Train and the Children’s Aid Society. It’s apparent she did her research in order to write this book.

The characters are all very strong with both positive and negative attributes. I disliked Fanny at first but then as their friendship grew, I loved her spunk! Both Thornton and Elise were well-rounded. Delightful characters!

The imagery throughout was awesome. I could visualize the long train ride and feel the movement of the train on the tracks. As the town started to grow, I could picture each building. Very well done.

I loved this book and can’t wait for book 2. It will be interesting to see which sibling the author writes about next! Her readers will definitely stay tuned to see where she takes the series.

I give With You Always five locomotives. It’s one train ride you’ll want to board!

I love the beautiful green dress on the cover. Sometimes I wish we still dressed so elegantly but then I clean chicken coops and change my mind.

The dress is beautiful. I also love that era, but you’re right…it would be hard to clean a coop in it. ha ha!

I can’t wait to read it. What a hard decision she had to make. My grandmother moved from Sweden to Canada after the flu epidemic of 1918, her husband died and she had an 8-month-old. Thankfully, she has two aunties in South Dakota to flee to for refuge. Looking forward to your book. Thanks for the giveaway! Sharing on Facebook!
