She stepped off the curb, texting as her head bopped in rhythm to the music playing in her ears, oblivious to the car careening from the right.
Across the street, Kara jumped to her feet. She’d been waiting for the next bus when she noticed the young woman. She waved her hands in the air. “Hey, lady! Watch out.”
The young woman kept going still texting, still bee-bopping.
Kara jumped up and down, flailing her arms. “Lady! Listen to me.” She raised her voice as loud as she could.
Others stopped and looked in the direction Kara pointed.
They too yelled.
But the woman couldn’t hear.
Do you ever feel God doesn’t hear you? Why pray? Is He listening?
We’ve all been there. Rough situations come across our path. We get that disturbing diagnosis from the doctor, our spouse says they’re not happy and wants out, our child is being bullied, we lose our job, etc. I could go on and on. No matter what the circumstance, the pain is the same. It’s heart-wrenching. Tough. Inconceivable.
Does God hear our cries?
I believe He does. I can’t always explain why things happen, but God listens.
Jim Brady wrote this song for his sister when she was diagnosed with cancer. She was facing her own gut-wrenching situation. He sang it at a concert Jeff and I attended. Tears ran down my cheeks as I thought of my own brother. Murray fought the fight on his knees. He praised God through it all with his dear wife at his side.
Did God pay attention to our sobs? He did and gave us a peace only He can give. A peace His children can have when they rest in His arms.
And let Him wash us with His peace.
What are you going through right now? How can I pray for you?
Every Cry is Heard by Jim Brady
The words in this song are powerful. Listen closely and be blessed. Thanks Jim for your amazing song!
I plan to listen to the song and I will let you know my thoughts later.
A very beautiful song and inspiring too.
