What if…Santa didn’t exist?

He tapped his shiny black boot and pushed back the white fur cuff to look at his watch. Almost closing time.

Where are all the kids?

The mall was bustling with shoppers, but no children were waiting in line to see him.

“Why don’t the kids want to see me anymore?” he said to the elf beside him.

The elf shrugged his shoulders. “Probably visiting an online virtual Santa instead. Face it, we’re a dying breed.”

“What is Christmas coming to? No one wants to come see Santa any more?”

He crossed his arms and shook his head.

I heard on the radio this week parents that aren’t taking their kids to see Santa at the mall very much any more. It’s soon going to be a thing of the past.

How sad is that? Now, I know my title is a bit of an oxymoron. Santa doesn’t really exist, but he’s a fun part of Christmas. Don’t you remember writing out a list for him? Sitting on his knee in the mall? Leaving out milk and cookies?

Fun, right?

I also know sometimes we put Santa in the forefront ahead of baby Jesus when we shouldn’t. But, I have to admit Christmas without Santa would just be SAD!

Yes, he’s not to be the focal point of our celebration. Jesus is the true gift.

But, let’s not forget to have some fun this Christmas!

Ho! Ho! Ho!

You better watch out
You better not cry
Better not pout
I’m telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town!

Christmas is definitely about Christ as a babe born to be our Savior .Family traditions and time with family is so important as Christ modeled when He walked on this earth. It is sad when we take some of the fun out of Christmas . I love the plate Dar so SWEET!!!
