From My Playlist – Jesus Messiah

I’m going to be honest with you. It’s been a rough week. I’ve struggled and been in tears more than once. I’ve questioned God. Why wasn’t He moving in ways I want Him to move? Or ways I thought He should? Why is He allowing this circumstance to happen?

Why? Why? Why?

Have there been times when you’ve felt like this? You’re tired of waiting on His plan and start questioning it.

I was there this week. Frustrated with certain situations and then a friend reminded me about meditating on Jesus. How had I gotten too caught up in my own troubles, I’d forgotten about simply resting in His arms?

Oh man, I’ve failed. Sure, I do my devotions and pray every day, but how many times have they just become too repetitive and ritualistic? Way too often.

We need to devour His word and meditate on Jesus. (Click to tweet) Not just a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants type of meditation and study, but one where you sit and take time WITH Him and not just read about Him.

I’m the first to admit I’ve failed in this area.

I need to reflect on Him and His name alone. Look at these: Jesus, Savior, Blessed Redeemer, Emmanuel, Messiah. What does that mean? He died for us. Shed His blood to save us from our sins. Took the weight of every human’s wrongs on His shoulders and went to the cross.

His love is so amazing. How can I not meditate on Him and wait upon His perfect plan? He knows what’s best for me. Shame on me for not trusting.

I will put my hope in Him. What about you?

Let’s praise the name of Jesus the Messiah!

Do you struggle in your day-to-day life? What are some of your secrets on how you’ve learned to put your complete trust in Him? Share with us.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (VOICE)

He orchestrated this: the Anointed One, who had never experienced sin, became sin for us so that in Him we might embody the very righteousness of God.

Jesus Messiah

This is a familiar song, but sit back and really listen to the words. His love is SO amazing!

Hey, Sue. Yes, it can be hard to wait on Him, can’t it? I know you know what that feels like. But we put our trust in Him and wait for His perfect plan. Thanks for stopping by. Love you. xo

I’m sorry you’ve had a rough week. I think we’ve all hit places where we become weary of waiting to see God move the ways we’d like. I found myself in a similar situation over a personal request and it wasn’t about my writing. I prayed and prayed. After a while, I realized I’d made a shift in my prayer. I began thanking God for His favor, and for moving whatever mountains held my answer back. I reminded him of my request several times and I was specific with what I wanted/needed. During those times of weariness, I asked Him to forgive my “humanness” and my doubts because I really wanted to believe He was working out the details. Yes, I shed many tears as my patience ran thin. I never doubted God’s ability, I doubted my own. One year and one month later… My request was answered and it was better than I’d originally asked. I have been overwhelmed by God showing off in this way. It changed my heart and my way of thinking about communicating with God.

Hey, Loretta. Thanks so much for sharing with us. I love what you said about praying, thanking God for His favor. I need to pray like that more often. Yes, I too love the way God shows off when He gives us the answer and it’s even better than we ever thought possible!! Thanks again for sharing your heart. xo
