Plain Retribution By Dana R. Lynn
The past has come back to haunt Rebecca Miller after she’s nearly abducted outside her place of employment. Reminders of that frightful time of her abduction ten years ago hit her and she’s once again paralyzed. Thankfully, police officer Miles Olsen comes to her rescue after she barely escapes with her life. She soon discovers all of the girls who were captured with her years ago are now targeted since they helped put their assailant away. She’s next.
Police officer Miles Olsen is out to correct past mistakes when Rebecca’s case lands on his doorstep, but can he keep his head straight as the beautiful deaf girl wheedles down his resolve to stay distant. Her life depends on it.
Rebecca and Miles face numerous attacks as they race to find the assailant. Can they discover his identity before he succeeds in the chase to capture his final target? And can Rebecca and Miles fight their growing attraction for each other or will it get in the way of the case?
Dana R. Lynn has done it again with this action-packed tale! Plain Retribution will capture you from the first page and leave you breathless until you reach the final sentence.
I loved the second installment of the Amish Country Justice series. Picking up with Rebecca’s story is a fitting way to continue with this series and having Miles trying to rectify past mistakes makes for a powerful read. The faith interwoven throughout adds to the storyline as does the use of the deaf protagonist. It has a freshness to it.
The characters are well developed and likable. You feel yourself cheering them on as they race against the clock. I liked that the author brought in characters from past books.
The plot keeps you guessing and glued to the pages.
I give Plain Retribution five stars. It’s a suspenseful ride you’ll want to get on!
