Long Walk Home by DiAnn Mills

Arab Christian, Paul Farid, has put his secret life behind and is now flying in medical and relief supplies to the people of Sudan. On one of those missions he meets the beautiful American Dr. Larson Kerr, but their visit is cut short when they’re attacked by a dangerous army out to take everything from the Sudanese people. Paul is wounded and soon finds himself caught in the middle of a perilous war.

Dr. Larson Kerr loves the Sudanese people and does everything to protect them, including putting her life on the line as she provides medical care. When Paul arrives with much-needed supplies, a dear friend is taken captive in a surprise attack. She must rely on this Arab stranger and an enraged Colonel to help find Rachel before something terrible happens to her.

Paul and Larson must set aside their growing attraction for each other and concentrate on helping the Sudanese people through this unspeakable war-torn land. Will Paul and Larson realize their feelings for each other or will Paul’s secret identity get in the way? Will Larson learn to trust God again?

Find out in the Long Walk Home—a story that will put the Sudanese people on your mind.

I loved this novel by DiAnn Mills. It’s apparent she herself has visited this area and fallen in love with the Sudanese. Her knowledge of the land and people brings the reader right into the heart of Larson’s medical hut and surrounding area. I can picture the lion rustling in the field, feel the heat, and taste the strong coffee. Her use of emotional conflict kept me holding my breath as the characters interacted with each other and fought for their lives.

This story held my attention and kept me turning the pages to find out what happens. I fell in love with the characters and couldn’t wait to see how their arcs unfolded. Can’t wait for the next in the series!

This author is an amazing storyteller. Every book I read by her captures my heart and makes me want to become a better writer.

I give Long Walk Home five grass huts. It’s a story that will tug at your emotions long after you finish the last page!
