Seconds to Live by Susan Sleeman
U.S. Marshal Taylor Mills wants to keep her witness safe, but when cybercriminals hack into the system and steal their personal information, she’s thrust into a high-octane game of cat and mouse. How can she keep the location of her witness from the Phantom when someone close to her could be compromising everything?
FBI Agent Sean Nichols is determined to catch the Phantom at all costs. He has been one step ahead of the FBI and Sean needs to take him down before more lives are lost.
Taylor and Sean must put aside their growing feelings for each other and concentrate at the ticking clock as they race to find the identity of the hacker and protect the witnesses. Can they trust each other long enough to catch the cold-blooded killer?
Susan Sleeman does it again with this suspenseful novel, Seconds to Live. It caught my attention from the first sentence and kept me turning the pages to find out what happens to these loveable characters. I enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see more from this author.
The tension and conflict in this story were well placed. This puts the reader right into the story, holding their breath. The author’s use of sensory is done effectively. It brings the words on the page to life.
The characters jumped out at me and I cheered Taylor and Sean on as they raced to solve the puzzle. The secondary characters were well-rounded and served the purpose of the plot nicely. I can see some of these characters getting their own stories.
Can’t wait for book two of this Homeland Heroes Series. Minutes to Die releases in August 2020. It’s gonna be a great ride!
I give Seconds to Live five stars. The story will keep the reader guessing with every twist and turn and shock them with the stunning ending.
