Close Encounters of the Murderous Kind by Marissa Shrock
Bobbi Sue Baxter’s dream is to become a great reporter and leave Wildcat Springs. She only wants to put her town and the summer of 1988 in her rear-view mirror. However, on her way home from a movie, she comes face-to-face with the unspeakable—an alien. Or was she only imagining the blue creature and strange noise in the woods near her home? When news breaks of a well-known town member being found shot to death in the same spot as her encounter, she races to uncover the truth behind the alien conspiracy and clear her name. Odds against her surmount and the question becomes—can she stay alive long enough to solve the mystery plaguing Wildcat Springs?
Close Encounters of the Murderous Kind is a delight! I loved reading this cozy mystery. It kept me glued to the pages to unravel the mystery along with Bobbi Sue, trying to piece together all the clues. The plot was well written and engaging. I loved the humor throughout the story and the author’s unique voice. This is the first in her newest series and I can’t wait for the next installment of the Bobbi Sue Baxter’s Mysteries! Well done!
I give Close Encounters of the Murderous Kind FIVE spaceships. This fun mystery is guaranteed to keep the reader guessing and leave them smiling.
