“It’s time.” I heard Him say.
Tears filled my eyes. “But, I’m scared.”
“That’s okay. I’m here.”
Have you ever been hit over the head with a two-by-four? I have. Well, not literally of course. That would hurt!
Recently while at a writer’s conference, the Lord spoke to me. Not audibly, but a topic kept creeping up on me like a snake spying on its prey. I didn’t want to face the facts as I knew old hurts would surface. Did I really want to go there? Doubt filled my mind.
However, even my writing friends saw it happening. “I see a theme Darlene,” one said.
My heart pounded in my chest as fear began to take over my being. One speaker said if you write in a place of fear, it’s authentic and the Lord will use it.
These words played over and over in my head like a scratched CD needing to be thrown out. I began to pray. “Lord if it’s really time, show me.” I asked my family and friends to pray.
A song by Meredith Andrews began to pull at my heart strings.
I won’t speak until You speak.
I won’t move until You move me.
I won’t sing, sing over me.
I will wait as long as it takes.
I found myself singing these words all the time and slowly the Lord confirmed. “It’s time.”
So, what exactly is my story? You’ll have to wait until next Monday, but be sure to come back because it’s a unique one.
Come with me on my blog journey and dream.believe.fly!
Proverbs 3:5&6 (NIV)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
I can feel it…
I think you are about to soar.
Write into the fear, but don’t be afraid…. This will be beautiful.
All’s grace,
Ann
Hey Sissy,

I love the picture ,so fitting for the journey you are embarking on I can’t wait for the next part even though I walked this journey with you ,its cool to see it unfold in your amazing writing. I am enjoying watching your dreams come true and you are trusting Him and believing and soaring in flight !!! Love ya Sue
Monday is my new favourite day! 🙂
I attend the same church as Meredith and will pass on to her how her song has encouraged you (I can’t promise she’ll read and/or comment on the blog, but I will make her aware of it). Interesting how when God’s children use the gifts He has given them, how the blessings from that obedience in faith can often end up returning to the original ‘giver’ and as such reward both giver and receiver since both stepped out in faith to trust Him. 🙂
