Carli Moore stumbles onto bones in the cave on her family’s ranch where she loved to take refuge during her childhood years. Only this time, it doesn’t bring solace but racks her body with shivers as she peers closer at the skeleton. A dirty, weathered pink sweater pokes through a pile of rocks—Carli’s sweater that she lent her friend Sadie on the night of her disappearance.

Sergeant Zain Wescott can’t believe Carli is back in town and standing on his doorstep, telling him she’s found his sister’s bones. On the Moore ranch. Suspicion returns of her brother’s involvement and Zain is out to prove his guilt.

What the pair discovers is muddied truth marred with deceit. The closer they uncover the cave’s secrets, the more the killer targets them and their families. Can they race against time and unearth the secrets while realizing their true feelings for one another? Or will they die trying?

Cave of Secrets is Shannon Redmon’s debut novel and WOW. What a start to a promising writing career. It grabbed me from page one and held me in its clutches until the very last page. It was full of intrigue, heartfelt emotion, and breathtaking twists.

I fell in love with Carli and Zain. Plus, little Eli is a delight! The characters were believable and the reader will find themselves cheering them on each step as they uncover the cave’s secrets.

The imagery in this well-crafted novel literally had me breathless at some points. The author knows how to put her reader right into the pages. Well done.

I give Cave of Secrets five stars. It’s one debut that will grab you by the throat and not let go!
